ATMI 2009 Conference

TMI announces its 2009 national conference in Portland OR, October 22–25, 2009. The conference will be held in conjuction with the Fifty-Second meeting of the College Music Society, at the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center Portland-Lloyd Center in Portland, Oregon. As in previous years, the joint conference between CMS and ATMI promises an exciting mix of technologies, educational applications and talented presenters. We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Roger B. Dannenberg will give the ATMI Plenary Address at this year's conference.  His innovative approach to music technology and its applications to music learning will provide the basis for an extremely stimulating presentation.

 

2008 Best Student Presentation Award
he executive board of ATMI and the 2008 Program Committee are pleased to announce Evan Tobias as the recipient of the  2008 ATMI outstanding student presentation award.  Evan's session was entitled "From Bytes to Beats:  Popular Music Pedagogy Through Web-Based Technologies." In conjunction with this award, Evan will receive both a  monetary prize and the honor of being selected through a peer-review process.   Evan is currently a doctoral student  at Northwestern University and on the music education faculty of Arizona State University.  On behalf of all of the membership of ATMI, a hearty congratulations to Evan.
